# Claim Length Setting

In order to cater to different playstyles, strategies, and schedules, Golem Overlord lets invested users choose their own Claim Timer length! Accessing these features requires a minimum Algorithm Stat, and you must pay (burn) a set number of $PART to unlock them.

* **The baseline** Claim Timer is 8 hours, and it is called 'Normal'.
* **The 'Short' Timer** sets the cooldown to 4 hours, allowing you to claim twice as often. This also reduces your [Claim Multiplier](/golem-overlord/gameplay/scavenging-claim/claim-multiplier.md) by a flat 25%. You must have an [Algorithm](/golem-overlord/gameplay/player-stats/algorithm.md) Stat of 7 and make a one-time payment of 49 $PART to unlock this option.
* **The 'Longer' Timer** sets the cooldown to 12 hours, which is convenient for overnight. This also increases your [Claim Multiplier](/golem-overlord/gameplay/scavenging-claim/claim-multiplier.md) by a flat 15%. You must have an [Algorithm](/golem-overlord/gameplay/player-stats/algorithm.md) Stat of 15 and make a one-time payment of 225 $PART to unlock this option.

## Setting a new cooldown (CD) length

Choosing an unlocked setting will determine your NEXT timer, leaving the current one unaffected, so plan accordingly! If you make a choice while you are out of cooldown (i.e. you are able to claim), the choice will be reflected as soon as you claim.

Mouseover the setting buttons to view the Current and Next settings.
