Battles: Finding a target

To arms!

Click the Battle option from the top of the Action Menu to access the Leaderboard and Battle modals.

You are presented with a lot of information here, and understanding what everything means will be critical in determining your best targets.

Every row in the Battle modal contains information about another user. You can safely click into them without triggering a battle (a Hive Engine transaction needs to be signed to initiate any battle).

Information on the User Row

  • Rank, Hive username (starts with an @)

  • Leaderboard bonus multiplier

  • Game rating 💥

  • Battle Win/Loss record

  • Claimable Stash 💥

  • Power & Fortification Stats 💥

  • Faith Stat 💥

  • Status (attackable, protected) 💥

  • Attack Penalty 💥

Yup, it's a lot! And we're not even quite done yet. The 💥 symbol denotes the information that is most pertinent to choosing a target.

Once you click into a player's row, a side panel pops open with even more detail:

  • Claimable Stash

  • Steal range 💥💥

  • Odds of Victory 💥💥

  • Your available Energy

  • ATTACK BUTTON

Choosing targets

At the end of the day, it comes down to that steal range and your odds of victory. You also need to consider how much room you have left in your own Stash, as well as your Energy.

  • The odds are improved if you have more Power than your Target's Fortification. Ties favor the defender.

  • Steal range is impacted by many complex stat interactions, including:

    • Your Faith vs the Target's Faith

    • Your Target's total Stash

    • The Attack Penalty (see below)

Attack penalty

If you target people that are well below your game Rating (which is derived from how much $PART you've burned and staked over your lifetime), you will suffer an Attack Penalty proportionate to the difference between you and the target.

Attack penalties only come into play once you've reached a Rating of 100.
